Mend Structural Damage

Bracing damaged trees to mend and preserve their integrity is an important speciality. Damage from storm and other accidents can be mended to give the tree at least another 40 years of life.

WHERE WE WORK

In order to give excellent consumer service, Guy treats trees across NSW and SA only. This includes:

  • the Southern, Central and Northern Tablelands and the Blue Mountains in NSW.

  • anywhere in South Australia where elms grow from Strathalbyn to the Claire Valley, the Barossa, Adelaide metro and as far east as Goyders Line

In the past 12 years of treating elms for elm leaf beetle and repairing structural damage with rod bracing, we have treated trees at over 2800 sites across the country.

Guy O'Donnell

Qualifications: Guy has a BSc (Botany) Degree in Tree physiology, Mycology & Plant Pathology and Postgrad qualifications in Vitculture and Oenology.

Guy has been practicing aboriculture since 1982. He now specialises in treating elm trees for pests and structural damage. He trained as an arborist with RP Denton and Assoc in Essex, UK, the firm commissioned by HRH Queen Elizabeth II for aboracultural work throughtout the UK. Upon returning in 1980, he opened a business in Bowral as the first arborist in the Southern Highlands.

Guy O'Donnell first discovered Elm Leaf Beetle in Adelaide in 2011 and immediately notified the SA Dept of Biosecurity. He later discovered the same pest in the Southern Highlands (Mittagong) in 2017..

Guy treats all elm trees as though they were his own and is very passionate about what he does. He will freely give advice over the phone, believing that he has to give back to people.
